What The US Govt Shutting Down Fable 5 Means For Your Business

The US government blocked Anthropic's most capable public model this week, for anyone outside the United States.
Anthropic couldn't cleanly separate access by nationality, so they pulled Fable 5 for everyone worldwide. If you run a business in Ireland or the UK, you lost access along with the rest of the world. As I write this, there's no confirmed date for it coming back.
What it reveals is a gap most businesses haven't thought about yet.
Most owners using AI today have no idea what would break if their main tool disappeared for a week. Nobody has ever made them write it down.
