Claude joined your Slack team
12 July 2026

Anthropic gave Claude its own Slack account this week.
Not just a bot that replies when you tag it. An actual team member with its own permissions and its own identity inside the channel.
Three things this changes for teams.
When a decision gets made in a thread, Claude acts on it while everyone else keeps talking. The admin from the meeting handles itself.
Every person on your team has had their own private Claude until now. Channel Claude has full context of the whole conversation. Everyone gets the benefit without everyone needing to prompt it individually.
Claude doesn't log off at five. Whatever gets decided during the day keeps moving after your team stops.
The practical thing to do before you get access: think about which channels you'd put Claude in and which ones you wouldn't. Permissions matter more than the tool once it's inside your workspace.
Claude in Slack is in early access. If your team runs on Slack, get on the waitlist.
