Google Just Made Setting Up an AI Agent as Easy as Typing One Request
22 June 2026

I tried Google's new managed AI agent this week.
One sentence in and it had its own computer running in the cloud, doing the job. No code to write, no server to configure, no IT department needed. You describe what you want in plain English and Google spins up an agent to handle it.
Most business owners I talk to have been holding off on AI agents because they assumed the setup was a technical project: a developer and a budget they didn't have. That assumption is out of date.
Three things I could see a small business using straight away.
Competitive research. Tell it to find what your main competitors are charging this week. It searches, summarises, and hands you a one-page brief in minutes.
A first draft for a landing page. Describe your service and it builds a file you can take straight to a designer.
Custom instructions. Write a few sentences about how you work and the agent follows them every session, without you restating them each time.
Six months ago, setting up an AI agent meant servers and lines of code. Google just made it a text box.
If you've been putting off AI because it felt too technical, this is the one to start with. Open Google AI Studio and type one request.
See what comes back.
