Claude Can Now Work on Your Laptop Without You Sitting There

Anthropic just made it possible to send Claude a job from your phone and have it run on your laptop while you're nowhere near it.

They launched a feature called Dispatch this week. It pairs with Cowork, which already has access to your files, folders, and apps on your laptop. Dispatch removes the requirement to be sitting in front of it.

I tried it: you send one instruction from your phone, and Claude gets the job done on your laptop while you're still in the client meeting. Nothing happens without your approval, it asks before it touches anything. Your laptop needs to be on, but there's a setting to keep it awake longer.

Right now it's on the paid plans only and it's a research preview. Rough edges included.

The businesses who get ahead of this are the ones with Cowork already set up properly. When Dispatch is fully live, they hand work off from anywhere. Everyone else starts from scratch.
