Quit learning about AI agents

Quit learning about AI agents. Build one instead.
You have been reading about agents for months. What they are, what they do, which ones matter. You still have not handed one a real job.
I see this with every business owner I talk to. They understand what an agent is in theory: AI that takes a whole job, not one question at a time, and runs it from start to finish. They can explain it perfectly. They have never tried it on something real.
An automation is a vending machine. Press B4 and you get the same crisps every time. An agent works more like a good new hire. You tell it what you need and it figures out how to get there.
If you are on any paid Claude plan, there is one sitting there right now. Open the desktop app, point it at a folder of this month's receipts, and ask for an expense report. It writes its own plan, reads every receipt, builds the spreadsheet and ticks off each step while you watch. It has to ask your permission before it deletes a single file.
A job like that eats more of your plan's usage than a simple question, so start small. Pick one repetitive task from your week, the kind you keep putting off because it is boring but not difficult.
Ten minutes watching an agent finish a real job will teach you more than a month of videos about them.
Hand Claude one full job from your week today.
