Anthropic's most powerful model is in your Claude plan until June 22

If you pay for Claude, the most powerful AI model ever released is sitting in your plan right now at no extra cost.

On June 23, it gets taken back.

Claude Fable 5 launched this week, and Anthropic expects demand to outstrip what their servers can handle. So they've done something unusual: the model is included on every paid plan until June 22. After that it comes out of the plans, and using it means buying usage credits at serious prices. On the API it costs double Opus 4.8, their previous best. They say they'll bring it back into subscriptions when capacity allows, but there's no date on that promise.

That makes the next two weeks a free trial of the top end of AI, on the subscription you're already paying for.

The way to waste it is to point it at small tasks. It burns your usage allowance at twice the normal rate, and using Fable 5 to reword an email is like flying a 747 to the shop for milk.

This model is built to hold one job for hours, even days, without you touching it. So pick the piece of work you'd normally hand to a contractor for a week. The pricing review you keep promising yourself, or the report you've been dodging since January.

Open Claude, hit the model picker, choose Fable 5, brief it properly, and let it run. I'm handing it the biggest job on my own list this week.
