Most business owners take one look at Claude Code and close the tab.

I understand why. A black screen and the word code in the name, every signal saying this is for developers. I put it off for months myself, and while the tab stayed closed, the manual work stayed manual.

Then I opened it, talked through a small tracker I wanted, and watched it get built in front of me. Ten minutes, no developer, no course. I described what I wanted the same way I'd describe it to a person.

Watching it build broke a belief I didn't know I was carrying: that software is something other people make for you.

That belief is expensive. It's why you're still assembling the same report by hand, still forgetting the follow-ups, still running a spreadsheet only you understand. Every one of those is a small piece of software you never commissioned, because commissioning software used to mean developers and budgets.

Once the belief goes, every clunky process in your business starts to look fixable. You stop asking whether AI could help and start asking which job to hand it first.

The tracker I built that first day still runs, and it cost me ten minutes and a description.
