You'd never retrain your team daily
6 October 2026

You'd never run a team you had to retrain every morning, and that's how most people run their AI.
You correct it on Monday, and on Tuesday it makes the same mistake, because the correction stayed in Monday's chat.
Some AI tools now remember things between chats, but you can't rely on that for rules your whole team needs. The next chat you open, or the next person who asks, gets the old answer.
The fix is to put the correction into the files your AI works from, on the day the mistake happens.
If it's a job your AI does every week, like drafting replies to enquiries, give that job a skill. A skill is a short file of instructions for one job, and the AI reads it every time it does that job. Claude and ChatGPT both have them.
Before you change anything, work out why it went wrong. There are usually three causes, and each fix has its own home.
The context was missing or out of date, so you update your business files.
The rule was unclear and the AI had to guess, so you rewrite the rule in the skill.
The right file was there and the AI never read it, so the first line of the skill becomes: read this file before you start.
Then add one line to a corrections log, with the date, what went wrong, why, and which file you changed.
After a month, that log shows you which file causes the most mistakes, and that's the one to rewrite first. It's also a written record of what your business has learned, somewhere your team can read it too.
