You can't say what AI has made you

Do This Now

You've been using AI for months, and you probably can't tell me how much more profit it's made you.

Most owners I work with can't either. They'll say it saves them time. Ask how much time, or where that time went, and the answer goes vague.

The trouble is the number they're watching. Hours saved feels like progress, but it never changes what you do on a Monday morning.

I run one test on any number in a business. If it doubled overnight, would you do anything differently tomorrow? If AI saved you twenty hours last month instead of ten, you'd most likely change nothing. That puts hours saved in the same pile as your follower count.

So for every job you hand to AI, I'd track two numbers instead.

The first moves early, inside the job itself. The second shows up later, in your bank account.

Take unpaid invoices. Say AI drafts the reminders for anything overdue. The early number is how many overdue invoices got a reminder within a day. The later number is how many days it takes you to get paid.

You need both, because each one catches what the other misses. If reminders go out faster and you get paid slower, AI is sending bad reminders quickly, and you find out in weeks instead of at year end. If both numbers move the right way, you can put a figure on it, because faster payment is cash you can count.

Pick the job AI does most often in your business this week. Write down its early number and its bank number, and check both on the last Friday of the month.
