Talking to AI puts you ahead of 99%
27 July 2026

If you talk to your computer instead of typing at it, you're already ahead of 99% of small business owners on AI.
In ten years none of us will type into a chat box the way we do now. You'll talk to an agent, it'll do the work, and you'll check it after.
So when Claude updated its voice mode this week, I was delighted. ChatGPT has been well ahead on voice for a long time, and I wanted Anthropic to close the gap.
Then I actually used it. There's a lag before every answer that ChatGPT doesn't have, and the transcription is rougher too. It heard the wrong word often enough to break my flow, and I don't think that's just my Irish accent.
None of that is a reason to wait on voice. The lag is a model problem, and Anthropic will fix it soon enough. The habit of talking to AI instead of typing at it takes longer to build. Start it today, on whatever tool actually works for you right now.
I use Wispr Flow for hours every day and I've nearly stopped typing. Client emails, proposals, every AI prompt I write, all of it spoken instead of typed. When you talk, you give the AI far more detail than you'd ever bother typing, and that extra detail is what turns a generic answer into a usable one.
Open the dictation button on your phone and speak your next three prompts instead of typing them.
