Claude works while your laptop sleeps

Three jobs got done in my business this week while my laptop stayed shut. Claude ran all of them on a schedule, and the update that makes this possible barely got noticed.

Scheduled tasks in Claude used to need your computer switched on. If the machine was asleep at the appointed time, nothing ran, which killed the feature for anyone who shuts the lid at night.

Now they run in the cloud instead.

A scheduled task is a job you give Claude once, with a set time to run. You write it up in plain English, the same way you'd brief a person. After that it does the work on schedule, whether you're at the desk or not.

None of it needed me awake or online.

One catch: work you build in a desktop session stays on that machine, so keep anything a scheduled task needs in a synced folder or a connected tool. Set that up once and the schedule runs clean every time.
