Claude makes animated videos now
23 October 2026

An animated explainer video used to cost you thousands, so you probably never made one. Claude can now build it on your laptop.
I mean the videos where words and numbers slide onto the screen in time with the music. Most small businesses skipped them because they needed a big budget or a motion designer nobody on the team could afford.
Claude makes them by writing code that draws every frame, like the pages of a flipbook. A browser takes a picture of each frame, and a free tool called FFmpeg stitches the pictures into a video.
Left alone, Claude's first attempt looks cheap. You get big centred text on a gradient, the look everyone now clocks as AI.
Three things fix that.
First, give it your real brand files and product photos, so it stops guessing at what your business looks like.
Second, give it a few videos you love and tell it to match their timing and movement.
Third, make it watch its own work. Ask it to flag the weak frames and redraw them before the final render.
I build video ads for a client's Meta campaigns this way in Claude Code. Getting the first one right took real work, mostly on the brand files and the reference videos. Now each new ad starts as a short brief instead of a production budget.
Agencies still earn their money on the idea and the strategy. Making the video was always the expensive part, and that part can now run on a laptop in your office.
Pick one thing you explain to customers over and over, like a price change or how your process works. Give Claude your brand files and one reference video, and have it build a 30-second version this week.
