AI grabs one paragraph from your site. No context. Just that paragraph on its own.

You spent hours getting your website copy right. AI skips all of it and quotes your competitor instead.

I see this constantly. The content is solid, the layout is clean, but AI never quotes the page. AI does not read your site the way a person does. It grabs one paragraph, drops it into an answer with no surrounding context, and moves on. If that paragraph does not make sense on its own, you get skipped.

I test every client page the same way. Cover the whole page except one paragraph. Can that paragraph answer a question by itself? If it cannot, rewrite it.

Five changes make the biggest difference.

Turn your headings into questions people actually ask. Write "How much does it cost?" instead of "Pricing." That matches how people search.

Put the answer in the first two sentences under each heading. Say the answer, then explain. Most pages build up to the point, and AI stops reading before it arrives.

Swap every vague word for a specific one. "29 euro a month" gets quoted. "Affordable" never does. The same goes for time, say "3 hours to 20 minutes," not "saves time."

Add one line saying where your information came from. Something like "prices checked on each company's pricing page in July 2026" builds trust with the model.

And make every table row stand alone. AI pulls a single row with none of the surrounding page. A cell that says "Teams of 5 to 20, posting to 8 platforms" can be quoted straight into an answer. A vague "Great for teams" gives AI nothing to work with.

Go through your site one paragraph at a time. The one that works on its own is the one AI quotes.
