3 jobs I still give ChatGPT
1 November 2026

I run my business on Claude, but there are three jobs I still give to ChatGPT.
Sticking with one AI tool out of habit costs you the jobs another one does better. These are the three where ChatGPT earns its place in my week.
Deep research. You give it one hard question, it goes away for anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, and it comes back with pages of research with the sources cited. I'd use it before launching a new service or sizing up a market. Even the free plan gets a small number of runs.
Shopping research. Tell it what you're buying, say a laptop for a new hire or a CRM, and it compares the options on specs and price and hands you a shortlist. That job used to eat a full evening.
Voice mode. Headphones in, out for a walk, and you talk through whatever is rattling around your head. The pacing is excellent, and I come home with my thinking already organised.
None of this means switching tools. Claude still does the day job in my business. These three jobs simply go where they're done best.
Try one of them this week. Pick the next purchase you've been putting off and run it through shopping research before you open a single comparison site.
Software doesn't deserve loyalty. Each tool earns its spot by doing the job best, and the moment it stops, it loses the spot.
