3 Claude updates you probably missed
26 October 2026

You're probably still copying text out of Claude and pasting it into Google Docs. You don't need to any more.
Claude has had three big updates recently, and you've probably missed at least one of them.
First, the switch between chat and Cowork is gone. Claude now works out for itself whether you need a quick answer or a bigger piece of work, so you just ask.
Second, Anthropic announced Claude Duet, a personal assistant app that checks your email and calendar and messages you when something needs you. It's a waitlist for paying users in the US, so it'll be a while before we get it in Ireland.
Third, and the one to set up today, Claude now works inside Google Docs, Sheets and Slides. It reads the file you have open and edits it right there, so the copy-and-paste loop is gone.
Open the Google Workspace Marketplace and install Claude.
Open any Doc, Sheet or Slides deck.
Go to Extensions, then Claude, then Open Claude.
By default it asks before every change, showing you each edit to approve. I'd keep it that way for the first few weeks, until you've seen how it handles your files.
It's in beta on the paid plans. If your business Google account is managed, your admin may need to allow it first.
All three updates move Claude closer to where your work already lives. Install the add-on this week and use it on the next proposal or report you'd normally paste back and forth.
